Comparison
[edit]The two devices take different positions on size and weight. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is thinner in both states and about 39 g lighter, and its inner display is larger, at 8.0 inches against 7.6 inches, with a taller 6.5-inch outer display.[2][3] The iPhone Duo is shorter and wider when closed, with an outer display that Apple says covers roughly 90 percent of the iPhone 18 Pro's screen area, and Apple rates its panels at a higher peak brightness.[9][3] DOCUMENTED The weight difference was one of the most repeated points in early public reaction on X.[10]
On cameras, Samsung's device has a dedicated 3× telephoto lens and a 200-megapixel main sensor, while Apple's uses two 48-megapixel cameras and derives a 2× optical-quality crop from the main sensor.[2][3] Samsung lists a 5000 mAh battery with 45 W wired charging; Apple does not publish capacity and instead rates video playback at up to 31 hours on the inner display, with 50 percent charge in about 20 minutes from a 60 W adapter.[2][3] The iPhone Duo carries a higher ingress rating, IP68 against IP48, which means Samsung's device is rated for water immersion but not for fine dust.[3][2]
The devices also differ in input and connectivity. The iPhone Duo uses a fingerprint sensor in the side button, supports only eSIM, and is due to gain Apple Pencil support in a later software update; the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra accepts a physical nano SIM alongside eSIM and does not support the S Pen.[3][1][2][5] In the United States the starting prices are about US$100 apart, with the Samsung device higher; in India the gap runs the other way, with the iPhone Duo roughly ₹1 lakh more than the Fold8 Ultra.[6][5][8]
